If you don't know more than the name, DON'T VOTE! Duxbury Vermont

It's full-bore election season now and the 'Get out the Vote' pushes are starting. They're wrong. If you haven't taken the time to read up on the candidates and issues, you're useless, so DON'T VOTE.

Democracy is based on informed voters electing like-minded representatives to political office. However our campaigns have degenerated into mud-slinging contests that motivate people to vote for the person they dis-like the least.

If you are going to vote, do it for a reason other than just pure name recognition or party affiliation. Vermonters are supposed to be independent folks, not sheep-like herd followers, so vote for a real reason.

Personally I spend a lot of time trying to avoid advertising and I'm fairly successful at it. As a result, I’m often clueless about who’s running for election and what they stand for.
Here are some of the websites of the candidates for the major offices. There are many more that I haven’t mentioned. If you know of any, please leave them as a comment to this article.

US Senate:

US House:

Vt. Govenor:

There are a lot of other candidates not mentioned here. Do you know who is running for your town select board? Take the time to find out and figure out what they stand for.

Relevant Address(es):
Duxbury, VT 05676 (Set as Local)
