Baking Classes

We currently have no public classes scheduled, but we can teach private classes to you, a group of your friends or for a birthday event (kids or adults)!

Our baking classes focus on alternative diets and making delicious treats that work for everybody. We use pure Vermont maple syrup as our primary sweetener in every class and use no artificial sweeteners or flavorings.

And you get to keep everything you make!

All classes are taught by bakery owner, Claire Fitts. Here is a sample of classes that we teach. If there is something that you're interested in that is not listed here, give us a call or send us an email to see if it's something we can do!

- Pies -
Learn to make butter crusts, vegan crusts and whole grain crusts to go under and over a delicious seasonal filling (we have the best pumpkin pie recipe).

- Cookies -
Crunchy, chewy or soft? There are a million different cookie variations. Learn some of the secrets to modifying your standard butter, sugar and white flour cookie recipe and making a good cookie great.

- Scones -
British, Scottish, tea, and breakfast are just a few of the scone variations out there. Learn what makes them different and how to make a scone just how you like it.

- Recipe Development -
This is a four part series that focuses on creating your own recipes and becoming comfortable modifying recipes to your liking. We start with a recipe basics class that shows you how to read a recipe, know what it expects of you and what you should expect from it. Then we have three more classes focusing on eliminating refined sugars, vegan baking, and baking with whole grains. There is a 15% discount for signing up for all 4 classes, or you can take just one class on its own.

- Eliminate -
Is there a ubiquitous ingredient that you (or a family member) can't eat? We can eliminate dairy, eggs, wheat, refined sugars, and gluten from many of your favorite recipes and teach you how to do it yourself. *Note: While we can teach the techniques for eliminating gluten from baked goods, our bakery is not a gluten free space.*

- Baking with Kids -
Healthier kid friendly treats are the focus for this class! The kids get their hands dirty and get to eat everything they make. Everyone gets a handout with all the recipes for making their favorites at home. This class is good both for parent-kid pairs and kid's birthday parties (there is an 8 child limit and there must be parent helpers in attendance).

So, get a group of people together for a class, then give us call and let us know what you're interested in. We charge $120 for a 4 hour class with 1-5 people, and $200 for a 4 hour class with 6-8 people.
