Gentle Qi Gong for Mind & Body
This version of Qi Gong requires no rehearsal or learning. You just pick it up as we go. Watch Kenneth, imitate it, repeat it gently while you relax into it and breathe.
Slow your mind down while energizing your body.
Appropriate for all and can be done seated.
Goal:mental clarity, lower stress hormones, energize your body.

Learning to coexist with foxes, bobcats, weasels, and other predators leads to healthier landscapes. These animals play vital roles in our ecosystems, including helping manage rodent populations, as nature intended.
SHO farmer Shawn Smith from Huntington, doting caregiver to 104 ducks, will share the challenges they’ve had with foxes and other predators and how they’ve successfully protected their flock.

Story Time with Paige and Michelle  
Parents with newborns through 5 years, 
join us every Thursday at 11:30 am at the library's website
for a new story time video that will stimulate developing intellect
withpicture books,rhymes and songs,
using shakers, rhythm sticks, and scarves.
Follow along with Paige and Michelle with your own instruments or rhythm materials.
These videos will remain on this site while we are unable to provide a regular story time in the library.
THURSDAY, MAY 21st at 11:30 am
Join Rachel O’Donald of AB2 (Active Body-Active Brain) for a creative music- and movement-based exploration of early literacy skills. The class will focus on a concept of dance tied to a children’s book. A wide variety of music, props and rhythm instruments add to the fun and learning!

Join Diana as she leads participants in gentle movements with the chair providing support and balance. Chair Yoga is a wonderful way to loosen and stretch your muscles, reduce stress, and improve circulation.
 
Writers’ Wertfrei
We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 10-noon
Next meeting: SATURDAY, MAY 16th via ZOOM
Writers, fledgling or published, all are welcome at our monthly gatherings of Writers’Wertfrei at the Waterbury Library. “Wertfrei” comes from the German “Wertfreiheit” meaning non-judgmental or value-free. These gatherings are a place where writers can come, share their work, receive comments and suggestions in a supportive, caring environment.
Come with what you are currently working on or anything else you’d like to share.
We are a supportive, caring community of writers.
Feedback is positive, constructive, and can be life-changing!

The series is led by musicians and singer/songwriters Patrick and Alison McHugh. The McHughs have been making music together for two and a half decades and have a passion for inspiring songwriters and aspiring songwriters to bring forth their unique talents and have a safe space to practice and hone their skills. Pat is a drummer, guitarist, producer, and sound technician. Alison is a singer, songwriter, and pianist.
The Wednesday evening gatherings are an informal time for songwriters of all abilities to collaborate in the sharing of their songwriting skills and ideas. Prior experience is not a requirement.
 
 
NOW OFFERING CURBSIDE PICKUP!
 
Begins Thursday, May 14th
 
Now that Governor Scott has approved curbside pickup for Vermont libraries, Waterbury Public Library will be providing patrons access to physical materials through a curbside pickup service.
Curbside Service begins on Thursday, May 14.
Requests for items will be accepted beginning May 7.
Hours for curbside pickup:Tuesday & Thursday 3-6; Saturday 9-12
Patrons picking up library materials may also return their library materials in the vestibule beginning on May 14. (The vestibule is the small area between the glass doors near the Book Dropbox.)
All other patrons may use the Book Dropbox to return items on
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays only.
On other days the Dropbox will be locked. If the Dropbox is full, please do not stuff your items in or leave them on top, as this causes damage to and potential loss of library materials. Instead, please try another day. We appreciate your care.
