PROJECT: Waterbury - Stowe VT Route 100 Rehabilitation Project
PROJECT TYPE: Roadway Rehabilitation
PROJECT LOCATION: VT 100 in the Towns of Waterbury and Stowe.
TRAFFIC IMPACT: On Sunday, July 7th starting at 7 PM, Route 100 will be reduced to one lane with alternating one-way traffic along Route 100 between the hours of 7 PM and 7 AM. On Monday, July 8th starting at 7 AM, crews will be working in the shoulder along Route 100 in Waterbury between the hours of 7 AM and 7 PM.
Flaggers will be on site to assist motorists through the work zone.
DURATION: Nighttime work, 7 PM - 7 AM, is scheduled to occur Sunday, July 7th through Friday, July 12th, and will require lane closures along Route 100 throughout the project area. Daytime work, 7 AM - 7 PM, is scheduled to occur Monday, July 8th through midweek along Route 100 in Waterbury and will cause minimal impact to traffic.
PROJECT COMPLETION: October 2019
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES/NOTICES: Crews will not be working over Independence Day (July 4th) weekend. All construction activities this week were completed by Wednesday July 3rd at 7 AM and will resume Sunday, July 7th at 7 PM.
Crews have finished shimming (leveling out the road surface) and paving the section of Route 100 from the I-89 interchange heading north near the Shaw's access driveway in Waterbury and a single lane from the Shaw's access driveway through its intersection with Guptil Road. Starting Sunday, July 7th at 7 PM, crews will continue paving Route 100 starting in Waterbury and heading north. All paving activities will occur during the nighttime hours, 7 PM - 7 AM.
On Monday, July 8th at 7 AM, crews will begin installing guardrail along Route 100 starting at the I-89 interchange heading north near Ben and Jerry's in Waterbury. Guardrail installation will occur duringthe daytime hours, 7 AM - 7 PM, and are anticipated to be completed midweek.
Time permitting, crews will begin berm (high shoulder) removal to improve drainage along Route 100 throughout the project area. The potential drainage work will occur during the nighttime hours, 7 PM - 7 AM.
PLEASE BE ADVISED:
The Bitter Lacrosse Tournament will take place over the weekends of July 12-14 and July 19-21 in Stowe. In addition, Stowe Street in Waterbury will be closed for the Waterbury ArtsFest which will take place over the weekend of July 12-13. Motorists should anticipate higher than normal traffic volumes and delay. Please plan ahead and allow extra time to reach your destination.
