Vt. State Police - 5:40 am Sun May 12th, 2019
On May 11, 2019, at approximately 2247 hours, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Rutland Barracks were notified of a single vehicle crash with entrapment on VT Route 30 in the Town of Wells, Vermont.
Investigation revealed Kellie Sykes (39) was operating vehicle #1, traveling north on VT Route 30 at the time of the crash. Sykes's vehicle rolled over and she subsequently became entrapped. Wells Fire Department, Poultney Fire Department, Granville (NY) EMS, and Granville Fire Department responded to the scene and were able to successfully extricate Sykes from the over turned vehicle. Granville (NY) EMS transported Sykes to a waiting Lifenet of NY helicopter, where she was airlifted to Albany Medical Center to be treated for potentially life-threatening injuries. Hampton (NY) Fire Department assisted with setting up the landing zone. This crash remains under investigation. At the time of this new release, Sykes was listed in critical but stable condition.
