Four new sculptures entitled "Cornerstones" will be installed at the Oxbow River Park in Morrisville representing the culmination of the "River Works Project," a partnership between River Arts, Northern Vermont University, and Artist and Designer Michael Zebrowski.
Designed to beautify Morrisville, increase awareness of the surrounding natural environment, and provide opportunities for observation and contemplation along the Lamoille River, "The River Works Project" evolved over the course of 2016-2018. Inspired by stories and ideas for the Oxbow Riverfront Park gathered from the community, area high school students and students from Northern Vermont University worked with Artist and Designer Michael Zebrowski to create sculpture designs for the final installations.
The unveiling of "Cornerstones" will begin at the River Arts Center in Morrisville on Saturday, October 27th, 1:00p.m., with an artist talk, and progress to the Oxbow River Park to view each of the four new sculptures. The sculptures, constructed from poured concrete, include: "Lamoille River Muse", "Lamoille River Water Table", "Lamoille Riverbank Chair" and "Lamoille River Lookout".
River Arts would like to extend thanks to participating artists and students who shared their energy, talent and creativity to make the final sculptures come to life, and to The Canaday Family Charitable Trust, rk Miles and SD Ireland for their support in bringing public art to life to Morristown!
