Swanton Emergency Management, after consultation with Vermont Emergency Management and the National Weather Service in Burlington, is expecting the Missisquoi River to rise to the levels it did during the January flood. The rise is expected to reach heights over flood stage in the overnight hours, roughly 3:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Swanton Emergency Management is strongly advising everyone who was affected by the last flood to leave their homes before nightfall and find other places to spend the night. Visit our website www.swanton.net and VT-Alert for continuing information.
