It was a decent weekend despite the weather and we had good crowds for both films.  As both are Osacr contenders and both are good films we are holding them each for another week.  The schedule will remain the same with only one interruption on Saturday for a private function.  Next weekend we will play the Oscar short program and the details of this will be in next week's newsletter.

The twenty-first annual Green Mountain Film Festival is coming up in one month.  Look for the schedule to and flyer to be coming out soon.  Karen Dillon, our new festival director has put together quite an interesting program along with some new events and special series.  We are excited to see what this year's festival will bring!

We have a new membership coordinator back on the job who is working hard to continue getting our memebrship database cleaned up and get renewal notices going out again.  If you are not sure whether you are current or not but have not received an email from us, please feel free to contact Winter at membrship@savoytheater.com.  Your membership is vitally important to the continued success of our theater and those of you who continue to renew and support us are a huge part of why we are still able to do what we love doing here.   If you are a lifetime membr, please consider making a contribution or even rejoining as an annual member.  Thank you!

A thrilling and inspiring true story begins at the precipice of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Winston Churchill (Academy Award nominee Gary Oldman) must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation. As the unstoppable Nazi forces roll across Western Europe and the threat of invasion is imminent, and with an unprepared public, a skeptical King, and his own party plotting against him, Churchill must withstand his darkest hour, rally a nation, and attempt to change the course of world history.
