Vermont expects Lyme disease cases to rise

Vermont's state entomologist expects Lyme disease cases to continue to rise in the state and the number of ticks to increase and move into new areas.

Alan Graham says he hopes to do a statewide survey of ticks this year following one last year in 20 towns representing seven counties.

The survey found that 58 percent of the deer ticks also known as blacklegged ticks tested had Lyme disease.
