Local programs win environmental awards

The Stowe Farmers' Market, a Lamoille County youth program and the Vermont Foodbank are among this year's winners of the Governor's Environmental Excellence Award.

An independent study by Harwood Union High School students won a youth honorable mention. The students collected data that show existing conditions in a nearby brook and proposed a plan to minimize stormwater runoff into the brook.
