Stowe Bridge Construction Update

posted at 1:41 pm Wed Jul 1st, 2015 by (WherezIt_Staff)

STOWE VT 108 BRIDGE RECONSTRUCTION
Project Location: The VT 108 Bridge (Bridge No. 2) is located on VT 108 approximately 350 feet north of the intersection of VT 100 and VT 108 in Stowe Village.

It's a holiday week, but that doesn't stop construction on the bridge, at least for Monday - Thursday (see below). Crews will not be working during the holiday weekend. Also, please be aware of traffic congestion along Route 100 from Exit 10 in Waterbury to Stowe. If you have friends and family visiting, you might consider telling them about the scenic alternate route via Route 12.

Work will continue on installation of the granite curbing and sidewalks on the bridge approaches. Crews will also continue constructing the timber cover over the permanent pedestrian crossing. Motorists can expect daily lane closures on the bridge with flaggers maintaining traffic flow through completion of the project.

Traffic: Daily traffic delays can be expected on VT 108 and VT 100.

Please focus on safety when driving through the construction work zone and remember, it is illegal in Vermont to use any handheld portable electronic devices while driving. The law carries fines of up to $200 with points
assessed if the violation occurs in a work zone.
