Vermont seeks FEMA assessment of damage from June 9 storms

WCAX - 9:26 am Thu Jun 25th, 2015

Vermont is seeking a damage assessment from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for storms earlier this month that washed out roads and drainage structures in Addison, Chittenden and Franklin Counties.

State officials say the rains caused more than $1 million in damage to public infrastructure.

Joe Flynn, director of the Vermont Division of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, wrote a letter to FEMA on Wednesday requesting the preliminary damage assessment that could make communities eligible for federal assistance.
