Vt. State Police - 1:55 pm Tue Jun 23rd, 2015

On 6-22-15 at approximately 2003 hours the Bradford Fire Department responded to a reported fire at 172 South Main Street in Bradford. Upon arrival the fire department observed the back portion of the house to be fully involved with fire.

This area includes a two level garage and storage section that is connected to the main house.
There was no one in the building at the time of the fire and as a result there were no injuries. The fire damage is estimated to be approximately $200,000.00.
The Bradford Fire Department contacted the Vermont State Police and requested an origin and cause fire investigation be conducted. A Detective from the State Police Fire Investigation Unit and a Fire Investigator with the Division of Fire Safety responded to the scene on 6-23-15.
Investigation has determined that the fire was a result of three (3) juveniles starting small fire(s) in the garage and surrounding property. The fire(s) resulted in the garage becoming fully involved.
This is a reminder for parents and care givers to speak to children of all ages about the dangers and risks associated with fire.
