FRAUD

Vt. State Police - 10:25 am Mon Jun 8th, 2015

The Vermont State Police is currently investigating a housing scam through "Craig's List." The victim(s) had been looking on "Craig's List" for houses to rent/buy.

Once they showed interest via e-mail they are contacted and asked to send money via Money Gram to Michigan. The house in question is a legitimate residence for sale in Derby Line, but it wasn't the owners requesting the money through "Craig's List." One of the victim(s) is out $8568. The Vermont State Police are urging the public to not send money via Money Gram out of state/country without fully investigating it. NEVER give out your account information or your social security number.
