Voltage Soccer Camp

Date: 6/15-6/19

Kick it into high gear with professional and collegiate players! Vermont Voltage Soccer coaches are dynamic role models and teachers of sportsmanship, team spirit and cooperation. This half day camp offers an opportunity to learn and enjoy many aspects of the game of soccer. Emphasis is placed on agility, fitness, ball control, and learning the tactics of the game while having fun. Please bring proper footwear, shin guards and a water bottle.  Early arrival is encouraged so activities can start promptly at 9am. Campers will receive a ball, t-shirt and a ticket to a Vermont Voltage home game.

Art Extravaganza Camp

Jump into a summer of creating exciting 2 and 3 dimensional arts! There are no limits to your creativity as you explore the world of art with an instructor from the Helen Day Art Center. You’ll paint, draw, make collages, create sculptures, and so much more. Combine this class with an afternoon camp at Stowe Parks and Recreation for a full day of fun and activities!

Add a half day of camp to your morning of soccer or art. Enjoy some free time for lunch, and then jump back into the fun! Counselor-In-Training Program (Session 1)

Are you 13 to 16 years of age? Do you want to learn how to become a leader? Do you enjoy children? Do you want to have an educational and fun summer? If you answered yes, become a C.I.T. with us today! Space is limited and registration deadlines apply for each session. Two 4-week sessions available. Participants will learn about personal strengths, leadership development, team building and more. This program provides young adults the opportunity to develop the social, emotional and cognitive skills necessary for future success in the work place. Participants are required to fill out a C.I.T. application. They will learn about professional development, effective communication, and resume writing.

American Heart Association First Aid/CPR/AED Certification

This certification course covers CPR/AED for Adults and Children and First-Aid including relief of choking, seizures, heart attack, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions, epi pen use, burns, bites, poisoning, broken bones, bleeding control, bandaging, glove removal, temperature related emergencies, and how to aid with other life threatening conditions. This course is for new or renewing/recertifying students.

Red Cross Babysitter Course

Become the best babysitter on the block with American Red Cross! This training will provide skills important to the safe and responsible care of children when parents are out of the house. Topics include safe play, first aid, preparing simple meals, proper feeding, carrying, dressing, and diapering of a child as well as problem solving and conflict resolution. Please bring a water bottle and a bagged lunch.

Babysitters, Nannies, and Mommy’s Helpers will get the chance to mingle with kids and meet the parents in this fun-filled interview process. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions, review resumes and find out if you’re a good fit for their family. Pre-registration is required.

Fishing Club

Date: 6/22-8/10

Location: Fly Rod Shop

Cost: $25 per class or $150 Residents/$160 Non-Residents for full 8-weeks

Parents, if your child enjoys fishing but it just isn’t your thing, or you are tired of doing all the work for them, by the end of this class they will be able to fish on their own! Kids will learn the basics about fish identification, parts of the rod and hook, lures & bait, and how to stay safe while fishing. Kids will also learn how to tie the fisherman’s knot (line to hook), the surgeons knot (line to line), how to put a bobber and bait on their hook. We will go over how to make the perfect cast, how basic lures work, and even find some of the food fish love to eat! This class is great for beginners or for those more experienced that want to perfect their skills. All the gear is provided by the Fly Rod Shop.

Survival Club

Time: 9-12pm

Location: Fly Rod Shop

Shelter construction, fire starting, outdoor cooking, native food species, animal identification, tracking, and orienteering will be just some of the topics covered.  Safety will be a large part of every lesson. The Fly Rod Shop will provide all materials needed for each lesson.  Our instructors will share their years of experience, and knowledge of the Vermont’s habitats. The children will need to come dressed appropriately for the weather.

Get geared up with Umiak Outdoor Outfitters. In this 2 hour program you will learn how to paddle a kayak and if you already know you will get so much better! You will have a blast while paddling on this fun adventure to elephant rock. Learn great paddle strokes through fun and exciting games.

Golf Club

Children of all abilities will learn how to play golf with their friends through fun games and activities at Stowe Country Club. Sue Horton, PGA Apprentice, and the instructional staff at Stowe Country Club will help teach fundamentals of golf with lessons in chipping, putting, driving, bunkers, rules and etiquette. All equipment will be provided!  Participants are required to wear a collar shirt.

Adult Intro to Stand Up Paddling Boarding (SUP)

Time: 9:30-3:30 am (half hour private lessons, hour group lessons)

Cost: $49 Residents/$59 Non Residents per class*

                *Additional fee of $3 per person for admission into the State Park

This is a great first step in learning how to maneuver a stand up paddleboard. The class is taught using SUPs that offer the most stability for beginning paddlers. You will learn about carrying, launching, basic strokes, balancing and maneuvers. Jump start your paddling with one of Umiak’s ACA certified instructors.
