Agency Completes Draft of Educator Equity Plan Montpelier Vermont

The Vermont Agency of Education has completed the first draft of their plan to respond to inequities in access to quality educators in high-poverty areas.

This report was written in response to the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) call that all states must examine the extent to which schools that serve students from historically underserved communities (poverty and high-minority populations) are enjoying the same access to quality educators as those schools with greater privilege (wealthy and low-minority populations).

The plan is posted on the Educator Equity page (http://education.vermont.gov/federal-education-programs/educator-equity) and is accompanied by a survey for stakeholders to provide feedback at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/EquityPlanFeedback. Feedback must be submitted by noon on May 29th to be considered for this year's plan.
