Maxine F. "Mickey" Rouelle - 73, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. Born on May 1, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Fletcher) Fernandez.
She was previously married to Wade Morse. On May 1, 1989, she married L. Douglas Rouelle in Waterbury Center. Doug predeceased Mickey on November 9, 2012.
Mickey graduated from Spaulding High School in 1960 and then went to work for the Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles. Following her marriage she was busy and happy as a homemaker and raising her children. Moving to New Hampshire, Mickey was employed in the Financial Aid Department at Hesser College for several years and then returned to Vermont in 1988 where she took a position with the Department of Aging as an Administrative Assistant. More recently Mickey worked as an Administrative Assistant for Casey Family Services in their offices in Waterbury and Winooski and was currently working part-time for the University of Vermont Extension Service.
In her leisure time she enjoyed reading, researching ancestry, knitting, flower gardening, her many pets and most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Mickey is survived by her children, Wendy Welch and her husband Jim of Duxbury, Eric Morse of Berlin; her brothers, Robert Fernandez of NY, William Fernandez and his wife Donna of NC; as well as 3 nieces and a nephew.
Graveside services will be held from the West Hill Cemetery in Williamstown at a later date.
