Bank grant supports free literacy instruction

A $2,500 Merchants Bank grant will support free literacy instruction at Central Vermont Adult Basic Education learning centers in Waterbury and throughout central Vermont.

The organization teaches reading, writing, and math skills to adults who are learning at the beginner through eighth grade levels in Washington, Lamoille and Orange counties. It operates six learning centers, including one in downtown Waterbury.
