The Spruce Peak Performing Arts Center in Stowe is pleased to present the Golden Dragon Acrobats for two shows on Friday, November 28 at 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. For tickets visit www.SprucePeakArts.org
The day after Thanksgiving, audiences in Stowe will be treated to the grace, beauty, athleticism and daring of the famed Golden Dragon Acrobats. Originally from Cangzhou, Hebei province, in the People's Republic of China, the troupe practices the rigorous art of Chinese acrobatics, an art form that began more than twenty-five centuries ago.
The Golden Dragon Acrobats blend lavish costumes, spell-binding acrobatics, impossible contortions, spectacular juggling, daring aerial stunts, and traditional dance with a hint of ancient and contemporary theater, to create a spectacular show for the whole family.
The more than 20 acrobats are athletes, actors and artists who have trained since childhood. The group has performed for more than 30 years to international acclaim - including performances in all 50 states and in over 65 countries across the world. The Golden Dragon Acrobat troupe had its Broadway debut at the New Victory Theater in 2005, and was nominated for two prestigious Drama Desk Awards for its performance. They return to the New Victory Theatre for a four-week run right after their performance in Stowe!
Tickets for the Golden Dragon Acrobats on Friday, November 27 at 3:00 and 7:00 p.m. are $20-$52 (SPPAC partners save 10-20%). A special Family 4-Pack 25% discount is available on the purchase of four or more regular or premium tickets. To purchase tickets please visit www.sprucepeakarts.org, or call the box office 802-760-4634. This performance is sponsored by Winterfell.
