Tara Geraghaty-Moats grew up skiing on the slopes of Mad River Glen and has

parlayed that experience into becoming one of the best ski jumpers in the nation. She just qualified for the World Cup and will begin competing in Euroe this moth. She needs our support - learn how you can help one of MRG's own fulfill her dreams!

Here is what Tara has to say about her experience growing up at Mad River Glen;

As many people at Mad River know, the skiers who call Mad River their home ski for more than just something to do on the weekends. They ski to get through hard times, and enjoy the good times, to test themselves, and to comfort themselves, and to be with family, but most of all they ski because they can, and because they love it. So it was in this environment, that I was taught to ski.
Tara got an early start skiing MRG

Not only was I lucky enough to have the appreciation of skiing imbued in me by the Mad River community, but I was also inspired by the incredibly diverse, and vibrant community. There are so many strong skiers on the mountain, especially female skiers, and equally as many styles of journeying from the top to the bottom, but unlike most areas all are equally appreciated and respected.

One thing I didn't appreciate enough while growing up at the mountain, (only because I had never skied anywhere else), are the girls, moms, and grandmas, who ski at Mad River. Growing up around the strong, graceful, and powerful skiing of the Mad River women, was what I considered normal. Now I know how rare a gift that was. I benefited so much as an athlete, because I learned to ski in a place that never told me I wouldn't be able to ski as well, because I was a girl. I'm really grateful that I got to grow up rocketing around Mad River!

Good Luck Tara - The MRG Community is Behind You!
