Jury picked to hear Melissa Jenkins murder case - Burlington Free Press

Wearing a blue collared shirt and khaki pants, murder suspect Allen Prue sat at the defense table of a Burlington court room with his head resting on one hand, listening intently to answers given by people who would potentially be determining the outcome of his case.

Prue, who is accused of kidnapping and killing St. Johnsbury teacher Melissa Jenkins two years ago with his wife Patricia Prue, remained unshackled and almost emotionless throughout the day-long jury selection on Monday at Vermont Superior Court.

Out of a large pool of about 80 Chittenden County residents, 16 jurors - nine men and seven women - were chosen by 4 p.m. Monday as those who would hear the testimony during the three to four week trial.
