AP Interview: GOP candidate seeks to slow change

Republican gubernatorial candidate Scott Milne says he believes Vermonters are eager for a chance to get off what he sees as the radical progressive path the state has been on since incumbent Democrat Peter Shumlin took office.

So even though Shumlin has almost $1 million more dollars in the bank than his campaign does, Milne tells The Associated Press he feels Vermont voters will turn to him next month.

The 55-year-old Pomfret businessman says Shumlin has been mismanaging state government and not paying attention to the details that are important to Vermonters: Reducing property taxes, improving state and local education and creating jobs.
